"Frank Brown, colored, sent to the escaped penitentiary from Green county, who escaped from there recently, with a number of other convicts, was captured in Hale county last Wednesday, and lodged in our jail. In Tuscaloosa county, after his escape, he stole a horse from a negro, who followed and captured him. Brown states that in making their escape, four or five of the number were killed, and several; himself of the number, wounded, Dr. E. Young, who cut a ball out of the pit of Brown's stomach, on Wednesday evening, informed us that he was shot in the back, the ball running to the point from which it was extracted. -Greensboro Beacon."
