A telegram to the Selma Times, dated Demopolis, Sept. 16 at night, sums up the casualties, near Forkland, Greene Co., Ala., thusly. The result of the recent grand battle, as near as can be estimated is as follows, viz: One moke sent to father Abraham's bossom and several hors du combat from certain leaden slugs called bullets, nine in limbo and the rest in swampo. A moke named Skinner, the leader of the forlorn hope, was badly wounded, subsequently captured, and is now enjoying the hospitality of the county. Five of the riotous negroes have been taken in out of the wet in this city during the past twenty-four hours. Four white men wounded, one supposed mortally. One war horse was badly used up and has been turned out to grass. It is thought that the campaign is over, and that there will not be any further trouble. The Sheriff's posse has returned to Eutaw, and order reigns in Greene.
