BY THE GOVERNOR OF ALABAMA. A PROCLAMATION. EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT, STATE OF ALABAMA. Whereas, authentic information has reached this Department, that an atrocious murder was recently committed in county, upon the body of Alexander Webb: and Whereas, It is formally alleged that the said murder was perpetrated by one Jolm Orrick. and it appears that the said Orrick has fled from justice and is still running at large. Now, therefore, with a view of vindicating the outraged law, and having the murderer brought to condign punishment, I, R. M. PATTON, Governor of the State of Alabama, by virtue of the power and authority in in vested, do issue this, my Proclamation, offering a reward of R. M. PATTON. By the Governor, MICH TAUL, Secretary of State.
Description. John Orrick is about five foot ten inches high, and about twenty two years of age. He is well made, has black hair and moustaches and blue eyes, and is good looking. Juno 29, 1867. FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS To any person or persons who may arrest the said John Orrick, and deliver him into the custody of the Sheriff of Hale county.
Given under my hand and tho Great Seal of the State, at the city of Montgomery, this the fourteenth day of June, A.D. eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, and of the Independence of the United States of America the ninety-first.
