"The Shooting Affray.
From the best and most reliable source we gather the following facts in regard to the unfortunate difficulty that occurred in this place a few days since from which it will be seen that Mr. Williamson was perfectly justifiable in what he did in the matter. Mr. Williamson is and was at the time of the difficulty in the employ of Mr. A. S. Nordlinger, a merchant of this place, now absent in New York purchasing goods. Mr. Nordlinger is having a large brick store, built on Water street which will soon be ready for occupancy. Mr. Nordlinger instructed Mr. Williamson before leaving, to receive only such goods as he actually needed at the store which he is temporarily occupying, so as to obviate the necessity of a second removal, and to leave the rest at the depot until his store was completed. Wash Hudson was a drayman in the employ of B. F. Harwood and being anxious to make money by hauling, persisted in hauling Mr. Nordlinger’s goods contrary to Mr. Williamson’s wishes and instructions.”
