"THE STATE OF ALABAMA,
PERRY COUNTY.
To any Licensed Minister of the Gospel, Judge of the Supreme or Circuit Court of the State, or Justice of the Peace for said County — GREETING:
You are hereby authorized to solemnize the Rites of MARRIAGE between Washington Hudson and Levina Mar and join them together in the Holy Bonds of Matrimony; and for so doing this shall be your sufficient warrant.
Given under my hand this 23rd day of December, 1878.
