Transcript: A difficulty occurred at Hollow Square last Saturday, in a drinking shop between Mr. J.T. Walsh and a negro who was in his employment, which later resulted in the killing of the latter. As the affair has been stated to us, Walsh acted in self defense and was fully justified by the circumstances, in killing the negro, who is reported to have an assault upon him with a knife. The negro bore a very bad character and is reported as having badly treated some members of his family, a few days previous, for which Walsh had reproved him. A preliminary investigation of the matter has been had, and bond given by the defendent for his appearance in higher court.
