Description

Oxidized metal base with rounded edges and white painted lettering to resemble a ship. On top of the base is an oxidized metal quadrilateral-shape with a triangle-shaped attachment. Four metal poles extend upward from the quadrilateral base. Oxidized chains representing capture hang from two of the metal poles. Joining these two vertical poles is a horizontal one from which hang instruments of slavery, including a plowshare, a hoe, and a yoke.

An oxidized metal sign with white painted writing is attached to a T-shape metal pole on the far-right side of sculpture. The sign reads: "REPENT: GOD SEE ALL / AMERICA / 54,000 SHIPS / LOAD OF AFRICA / PEOPLE THE / COTTON SEED / ACROSS THE / ATLANTIC / OCEAN IN CHAIN / IN SLAVERY TO BUILD / UP THE SOUTH AND / NORTH WITH FREE / LABOR LOST FREE- / DOM AGONY DEATH."
