The State of Alabama
Henry County [[Henry county (Ala.)|County of Henry]]
At a [[Circuit Court|Circuit Court]] began and held in and for said County, On Monday the eleventh day of October, in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty eight and of American Independence the eighty third year, present and presiding the honorable Robert Dougherty one of the the [[judges|judges]] of the Circuit Court of said state; the Following preceding were had to wit:

The State.

And now on this day it being Thursday of the term and the 15th day of October (?) 1858 and the day (?) for the trial of Francis J. Cobria indicted for [[Murder|murder]]; Council Marion A. Baldwin who prosecutes for the states and the [[Defendant|defendant]], in his (?) person and the plea in for of defendants having been heretofore demurred to and demurer sustained and the defendant having refused to plead over and standing mute, the [[Court|Court]] entered the plea of not guilty to be entered for him, and thereupon came a [[Jury|jury]] of good and lawful men to wit: George W. Holmes and eleven others who having been duly empaneled, sworn and charged, on their oaths say they find the defendant guilty of manslaughter in the first degree, and remand him to the Mercy of the Court: it was therefore considered by the Court, that the prisoner Francis J. Cobra be sentenced to imprisonment in the Penitentiary of this state for and during the term of one year and that the sheriff of Henry County be ordered to remand the said prisoner to the jail of said Court, and within five days after the adjournment of this court, the said [[Sheriff|Sheriff]] be further ordered

to the said Cobra from said jail and convey him said Francis J. Cobra to the (?) of said Penitentiary there to remain for the during the term of one year as sentenced by the Court. : And it is further ordered that the State of Alabama for the use of Barbara county receives of the said defendant the cash in this case for which let executive issue and the prisoner releases all (?)-
