The State of Alabama [[Walker County (Ala.)|Walker County]] [page break] I [[Gabbert, Thomas M.|Thomas M. Gabbert]] [[Judges|judge]] of the court of Probate* for said County hereby writing* that I am acquainted with the persons whose names are signed to the enclosed petition for the release of [[Sweat, Andrew J.|Andrew J Sweat]] out of the State Penitentiary and know* them to be citizens of said county of Walker. I further certify that a majority of them are men of high standing in the community and further, I am well convinced that they are sure* that said Andrew J Sweat should be released from prison or they would not have put their names to said petition.
