It* being shown by the review* petition, and by other aspects* to my* satisfaction ^that the [[Prisoners|prisoner]] [[Sims, Ephraim C|Ephraim C Sims]] was [[Convicted|convicted]] of a common assault* &* battery* at the fall term of the circuit court of [[Benton County (Ala.)|Benton county]] & fined one hundred dollars & that in default* of the payment of the said* fine* and the cost*, he was imprisoned by the (circuit or event)* for three* months & it being shown that the assault was not of an aggravating character, and that said Sims* whose* impact* has prevented* the *escape of others who were charged with a high offense for this meritorious conduct I have omitted* the balance of the time of his imprisonment & ordered him to be discharged.
