Sir At the request of many of the friends of Mr Lewis Bishop[[Bishop, Lewis|Lewis Bishop|Bishop, Louis|Louis Bishop]], I enclose the within certificates pf the physicians[[Physician|physician/s]] of our Town, who are acquainted with Mr Bishop & his condition; each of wh-om, is prominent in his profession. I will also Take occasion to say that Mr Bishop forwarded to you this same character of certificate 10 days ago; but Genl. Watson of our County, infor-med him, that he had, had a convers—ation with Your Excellency, in Montgomery some days since, in which you had said, that you had never read the ce-rtificate- the present condition of Ms. Bishop is very delicate indeed; hence he — your Excellency to <s>take<s> take some immidiate & prompt action [page break] in releasing him from his term of Con-finement. If in any particulars the enclosed certificatis, and deficient or not full enough; the difict has only to be poi-nted ^out^ to the undird ‘instantis’ I beg leave, in behalf of Mr Bishop, to refer Your Excellency to the Hon A. J. Walker, the Hon Samll, H. Rice of Your City-
