[[Montgomery (Ala.)]] Nov 7/59
To his E A B Moore [[Moore, Andrew B. (Andrew Barry), 1807-1873|Andrew B Moore]]
Gov of the State of Alabama
I venture to join in the [[Petitions, Legal|petition]] for the pardon of [[Bishop, Lewis|Lewis Bishop|Bishop, Louis|Louis Bishop]] of [[Talledega County (Ala.)|County of Talledega]] who was convicted of [[Maslaughter|man slauter]] manslaugh-ter in [[St Clair County (Ala.)|County of St. Clair]]. I know Mr Bishop well in Talledega County. He was my neighbor, He is an old man with an interisting family. [hon?] and deserved when I knew him the character of a good citizen, and a proud christian. He is lame, and I think of rather fee-ble constitution[[Invalids|invalid/s]]. He is not the man, whom I would think capa-ble of committing a homicide, unless under actual or supposed necessity—I understand his health is [imperiously?] effected by his imprisonment[[Prisoner|prisoner/s]]. I believe (though I do not know it) that his pardon[[Pardon|pardoned]] would be gratifying to the people of the community, where he lives
Very Respectfully a. j. Walker

A. J. Walker [unclear]
