STATE OF ALABAMA, AND BY AUTHORITY OF THE SAME,
[[Moore, Andrew B. (Andrew Barry), 1807-1873|A B Moore]] Governor of said State,
To the [[Sheriff|Sheriff]] of [[Marshall County (Ala.)|Marshall County]], and all other Officers
and Magistrates of said State—GREETING :
Whereas at <s>the</s> a late Term of the [[Circuit courts|Circuit Court]], held for the County of Marshall, forfeitures were taken against [[Hale, Thomas|Thomas Hale]] in two cases for the Sum of two hundred dollars in each case, as Security for the appearance of [[Hodge, John|John Hodge]] to answer to indictments pending against him in Said Court for [[Retailing|retailing]] [Spirituous?] [[Liquor crimes|liquors]] without License And it appearing to my satisfaction, from sundry representations to me made, and for reasons entered of record in the case, that the said Thomas Hodge is a fit subject of Executive clemency :
Now, therefore, I, A B Moore Governor as aforesaid, by virtue of the power and authority in me vested by the Constitution and Laws of the State, do hereby remit Said forfeitures taken against the Said Thomas Hale, and order that he be released from the pay—ment of the Same, upon the payment of costs—The Sheriff of Marshall County will only execute this order
In Testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and caused the Great Seal of the State to be affixed at Montgomery, this 22d day of October A. D. one thousand eight hundred and fifty—nine and of the Independence of the United States of America, the <s>seventy</s> 84th year
