Dear Sir,
I have prepared for your official examin-ation & decision, to accompany this an application in the case of the State vs Henry Roberts and the State vs Berry Underwood a [[Pardon|remission of the penalty]] incurred by the neceties of these parties for their appearance at court.
The main facts and grounds relied upon are stated in each case—I have Stated the Facts in regard to the provecations as I understand them—the solicitor W Royston can be refd to by you for their correctness I do not propose to trouble you recital of the facts which produced much excitement here some time ago—I have no desire to interfere with the regular course of the law in criminal cases—but from all that has occured my deliberate opinion is that the good of the community would be better promoted by the continued absence of the parties named than by their return to the state to answer the pending cases—I am very respy
