Wetumpka March 10. 1859
[[Pearson, Reuben|Rueben Pearson]], a convict in this institution was received on the 26th of July 1847, from the Circuit Court of [[Dallas County (Ala.)|Dallas County]] - under a sentence to imprisonment for life, (commuted from Hanging) for the crime of [[murder|murder]].
We the undersigned Inspectors hereby certify that the age of said Pearson appears from the Records of this Institution, to be sixty eight years - that his conduct has been “exemplary and unexceptionable, during the entire term of his imprisonment to the present time. And in our opinion the remission of the remainder of his term would not be inconsistent with the public good.
