Alabama Penitentiary
Wetumpka Sept 30. 1859
[[Pearson, Reuben|Reuben Pearson]], a convict in this institution convicted in [[Dallas, (Ala.)|Dallas County}} of the crime of [[murder|murder]] and sentenced to the punishment of death, which was commuted to imprisonment for life, was received here on the 26th of July 1847. We the undersigned Inspectors hereby certify that the conduct of said Pearson has been exemplary and unexceptionable to the present time
Said Pearson is now an old man - near 70 years of age - and believing that a remission of the remaining time of his sentence would not be detrimental to the public interest we respectfully recommend him, as in our opinion, a fit subject of Executive clemency.
