Governor of The State of Alabama
The undersigned [[Jury|jurors]] who tried the case of the State vs. [[Lowenthal, Jules|Jules Lowenthal]] charged by indcitment in the City Court of Mobile with [[Embezzlement|Embezzlement]] of [IA?] [?] Term of 1858 of said court, by [Law?] [?] [i?] your Excellency to [ex?] [find?] [[Clemency|clemency]] to him.
He was sentenced to the [[Penitentiary|Penitentiary]] for Four years. The undersigned in consideration of the facts that he is a foreigner. (being a national of [[Germany|Germany]] and necessarily ignorant in a great many of our laws + customs). His [?]. [?] [?] + age of his [[Family|parents]] + the [?] devotion [ex?] [?] [?] [?] his imprisonment + suffering. [On?] the part of his [[Family|wife]], [causistly?] [ammenable?] the case to your [?] [?].
