advertised in the papers that
all State Officers who do not volu
-nteer that their Certificates
of Exemption will be revoked.
I have been an acting
Justice for the last 23 years
as you can see from the
records and also from a
certificate I handed to Mr.
Brittan, the Secretary of State
last spring issued by the Judge
of Probate of Coosa which est
-ablishes the facts and have
been constantly engaged as
such except the time that
I was in the army and am
47 years old. I volunteered
at the commencement of
the war and after serving

- some time I received an
injury which rendered me
incapable of performing
military service and was
discharged permanently from
service and have since
that time been discharged
from service by the examining
board of Coosa County. I deem
it proper to bring the facts
to the notice of your excellency
for consideration and respect
-fully solicit an answer from
you, the Certificate of my
discharge from service I can
show you if necessary.
