Mobile, [Nov?] 15th [?] 1859
To his Excellency, [[Moore, Andrew B. (Andrew Barry), 1807-1873|A. B. Moore]],
Governor of the State of Alabama,
Dear sir,
[[Lowenthal, Jules|Mr. Lowenthal]], who was sentenced last summer to the penitentiary for [[Embezzlement|Embezzlement]] committed said offense while he was in my employ, and that I have been the [offended?] I feel no desire to [?] see him punished still longer. His family live in [[Belgium|Belgium]] and are of good standing and respectability, his [[Wife|wife]] appeared to be extremeley devoted to him and his [[Family|son]] [oh?] [as?] [after?] has been formerly [such?] as to lead to the hope that a slight [punishment?] will be sufficient - in [time?] of these considerations I beg respectfully to [?] to your Excellency to extend a [[Pardon|pardon]] to him on condition that he will leave the country and return home.
Yours [very?] respectfully,
[W.?] [W.?] [?]
