Your friends here
are anxious that you convene the Legis-
lature at once, and urge that body to
[put?] at your order and command every
man in the State capable of bearing
arms. It is thought the emergency
demands it.
I enclose an article from
the pen of Eli Shorter

Do you not think by convening the
legislature, you would at least divide
the responsibility with that body? J--
