To His Excellency A B Moore Governor of Alabama
Dear Sir
Your Telegraph of 23 Inst. [??]. I answered by some conveyance this morning advising you the deposit was made. Herewith Annexed I have your letter of this date from J S Green Eastern Bank Mobile,, showing that Joel E Ma -thews Esqr of [Coshocton?] Dallas County [?] [Has deposited?] to your Credit in said Bank Fifteen Thousand dollars, Subject to your order or check.
This Amount Mr Mathews has appropriated to aid the states in defence of the Country
Have the goodness to acknowledge receipt of same to Joel E Mathews Esq at Coshocton, Dallas Co
Your Obt Svt D. [Stootabor?]
Steamer [Delivery?]
Doe me the favour to acknowledge receipt of annexed letter to me at [?]
