[[Mayo, J. B.|J. B. Mayo]] who was [[Convicted convicted]] at the October Term 1856 in the City Court [[Mobile (Ala.)| Mobile]] of [[Embezzlement|embezzlm-int]], and sintenced to nine years imprisonment in the Pinitentiory is pardoned and the balance of his term of [[Imprisonment|impris-onment]] remitted -upon the following-ing grounds- to [wit]- the punish-ment is greater in my opinion when the character of the offense & the probble good required[?] - He has served two years & two months of his term of imprisonment - he’s conduct has been unexceptionable & [[Judges|Judge]] McGentry who sentences him recommends his discharge with other petiteuars - He also promises to leave the state- for these reasons an order for his discharge is directed to be made out
