Montgomery, Ala. Feby 5th 1861.
Col. J. B. Todd
Commander at Fort Morgan
Sir
I am informed
that the Companies from Mobile ordered
to Fort Morgan are permitted to
return to Mobile and other
Companies ordered to take their
places. If this be true, it is
done without orders from
this department and can not
be permitted. It produces
dissatisfaction and discontent
among the Companies from
the interior, and is wrong
in itself. I wrote you some
days since in regard to this
matter, but presume from ^some cause
you have not received my
Communication. All the Com-
panies now at Fort Morgan
will be relieved by volunteers
for twelve months as soon
as practicable. Very Respectfully
A. B. Moore.
