To His Excellency A.B. Moore Gov. of the State of Ala.
I do hereby Certify from returns made to me by A.G. Stewart Sheriff of Autaug[a] County, that Robt W Kerr was duly elected Lieutenant Colonel of the 1st Bat, 23 Reg, 15 Brig-, and 6th Divis of Alabama Malitia on the 5th day of Dec 1860, to fill the vacancy occasioned by the removal of Major Barlow, and that on the same day Archabald M [DeJanutte?] was Elected Major of the 2n Bat 23 Reg, 15 ^Brig & 6 Divis Ala Malitia to fill the vacancy occasioned by the Resignation of Lieut Colonel Ed Stoud[?] and that on 1st day of Dec, Wm Duncan was Elected Captain and Charles C Robinson was elected 1st Lieutenant of Autaugaville Beat No 7 - 2 Bat 23 Reg 15 Brig 6 Divis Alabama Malitia
and that I have appointed T L Faulkner adjutant G A Northington Quarter Master James [Nunn?] Pay Master and Dr Thos. A. Davis Surgeon and Dr Duncan McNeal & Dr J A Sullins assistants -

Executive Department Montgomery Ala Dec. 27 1860
Secy of State will issue Commissions as above -
