Description
From the Alabama Department of Archives and History Governor A. B. Moore Collection. A petiton from Uriah W. Nesmith and citzens of Blount County to Governor Andew B. Moore requesting the pardon of Elijah R. Murphree. The petition mentions that Murphree's five children "are all afflicted which is caused from bleeding whenever thier skin is broken." Daniel Murphree certifies that he has visited the house and can attest to the discribed situation stated in the petition.

I [[Nesmith, Uriah W.|Uriah W. Nesmith]] an acting Justice of the peace in and for said county hereby certify that I am acquainted with [Murphree, Elijah R.|Elija R. Murphrees]] family and know them to be in very [[impoverishedpeople|indigent circumstances]] & that he has a very helpless family has all small [[children|children]] & said children I believe are all afflicted which is caused from [[ILL|bleeding whenever the skin is broken]] and I also believe that said family needs help from some source or other
