To the Honorable [[Moore, Andrew B. (Andrew Barry), 1807-1873|Andrew B. Moore]]
Governor of the [[Alabama|State of Alabama]].
Your Petitioners show to your Excel-ency that at the last term of the [[Circuit Court|Circuit Court]] of [[Madison County (Ala.)|Madison County]] of the charge of [[Petty larceny|Petty Larceny]] and fined in the sum of fifty [gap] dollars, and being pussetly[?] resliluls[?] of property, and the term of a prior laboring man, he was unable a pay or secure the fine and was there upon ordered be the Court to be Confined in the [[Jails|jail]] of the County for the term of six months. He was as the time of the alleged offence a melin[?], and alleges his inocence, and chosses his prosecution to M believes mobis[?]; but above these things your Petitioners know nothing and make no represculation. He is now in jail, and has been seires[?] said Court and admitting his guilt, your Petitioners think the laws[?] of justice have been sufficeintly acserved. Beads which and or the immediate Court of the application, they shown that he is now languishing in Jail under an attack of [[Typhoid fever|Typhoid fever]], which is show in its progress, and he’ll probably lost through his period of [[Imprisonment|imprisenment]] which he is orssuird[?] of the care and beleution of his family and friends, whose poorly exgu-eies them to labor at home.
