Co. F 4
Huntsville, April 22d 1861.
Gov. A. B. Moore
The Huntsville Guards are
ready for orders. We will send you the
list and organization of the Company
when we leave, or earlier if you require
it. I prefer holding it back in order to
fill up to an hundred of picked men.
Please hold a place open for our Com
-missions, so as not to make us loose
the seniority we are entitled to.
I don't know what Companies
have reported to you from North Ala-
-bama, but we have enough for a
Regiment beyond doubt I think.
I have just written to know, and will
write you again as soon as I learn.
In the mean time if your informa
-tion is full on the subject, you can send
up the order at once. I think if you
will make an officer here for the
purpose, with power to bring the Compa
-nies together who are ready, the Regi-
-ment could be formed this week.
Yours truly,
[Egit?] T. Jones
