Aphra Behn: The Podcast was developed at the University of Alabama for the spring 2021 course, “EN 334: Seventeenth-Century Literature,” by Dr. Elizabeth E. Tavares (Department of English). Learn more about the praxis and materials that informed that course.

All student participants provided written consent to hosting their original research and recordings. Their work, part of this limited series podcast, is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License following US statutes of fair use for education and research purposes.

Audio

Each episode employs individual sound effects, music, and other audio tracks recorded and edited using the free, open-source software Audacity, drawn from the public domain and other royalty-free depositories including but not limited to PixABay, TakeTones, MusOpen, YouTube Audio Library, FMA, CCTrax, and the BBC Sound Effects Library. Music for the episode introduction, “Gavotte” by Jean Baptiste Lully, was recorded by Thrax via MusOpen. Read more about the recording software and practices used.
