People en route to the United States who have not already left China face a 2-week home-based quarantine if they had been in Hubei province. The Trump administration suspends entry into the United States of “immigrants or nonimmigrants, of all aliens who were physically present within the People’s Republic of China.” Nonetheless, exemptions still allow tens of thousands of passengers to enter the United States. Britain officially exits the EU.
-Feb 2: The first coronavirus death reported outside China — a 44-year-old Wuhan resident who died in the Philippines. The Kansas City Chiefs defeat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV in Miami.*
