Dec 26: Trump still hasn’t signed the relief bill. He has called for the stimulus check to raise to $2000 from $600. The House agrees and drafts a new bill with that amount. It goes to the Senate. Trump tweets “2020 Presidential Election Voter Fraud, the biggest SCAM in our nation’s history” and “See everyone in D.C. on January 6th.”
Dec 27: Trump signs the bill. U.S. officials say they are looking closely at a new strain of the virus. Trump announces he will hold a rally in the buildup to the upcoming Georgia Senate election and tweets again “See you in Washington, DC, on January 6th.”
Dec 28: Republicans sue Mike Pence in an effort to overturn the election. Mitch McConnell refuses to sign on to the coronavirus relief bill, with the $2000 check, which Trump supported.
Dec 29: A recently discovered coronavirus variant found a week prior in the United Kingdom is detected in a Colorado man in his 20s with no travel history. Two officers involved in Breonna Taylor’s shooting are fired.
Dec 30: McConnell again refuses to allow the Senate to pass the coronavirus relief bill, saying the increased stimulus check would be “socialism for rich people,” yet relief checks would only go to families who make below $100k per year.
Dec 31: As the year closes, the CDC says about 2.8 million people so far have received an initial vaccination. This falls far below the goal of 20 million that federal officials had hoped to deliver by the end of the year. Florida becomes the third state to report an incidence of the new coronavirus strain.
The challenges we face as a nation will not disappear overnight, but as we look forward to the start of a new year, I’m filled with fresh hope about the possibilities of better days to come.

After a year of pain and loss, let us unite, heal, and rebuild in 2021.
My wish is that ‘respair’ will emerge from the forgotten pages of the dictionary and be on everyone’s lips in 2021: it means fresh hope and a recovery from despair. Happy New Year x

Y2K was 21 years ago. Looking back, I think the only thing we learned is that if a bunch people work really hard to stop a problem from happening, lots of other people will assume it was never really a problem.

Just cannot seem to get a straight answer how 140 House Republicans will object to Biden’s win on the basis of widespread voter fraud, and yet not object to House Republican wins that came on the same ballot.

I will object to the certification of electoral votes on January 6th.

I’m a very suspicious person. Last year I wished everybody a happy new year and look what happened. So this year, from the bottom of my heart, fuck you.
