About

Crimson Miscellany is a student-authored digital project containing resources relating to early English literature, beginning with Anglo-Saxon literature and ending around the year 1800. Our site is named after the popular seventeenth-century trend of writing a miscellany—a book containing copies of texts and information from a variety of sources, and possibly copied into the book by different hands. Accordingly, our website houses contributions from a variety of students, in various forms, ranging from author bios to story maps, from artistic projects to resource tutorials. Crimson Miscellany will cover five different themes: Wanderers, Religious Devotion, The Romance, Money and Power, and Gender Debates. Contributors to the Crimson Miscellany are currently participating in English Literature I at the University of Alabama, taught by Dr. Emily Fine.
