Introducción: Cantica de Serrana fue escrito en 1320 por Juan Ruiz, un poeta español conocido como el arcipreste de Hita. Este extracto es aparte de la obra de Ruiz más reconocida y famosa llamada el Libro de buen amor, una composición que contiene por más de 1700 estrofas originalmente escrito en castellano medieval. Cantica de Serrana es un salmo religioso que habla de una persona que habla con Dios para encontrar dirección en su vida.

Resumen: Por el extracto, es tan evidente que el época del origen. Cuando Ruiz usaba el tenso de condiccional, hay ejemplos donde el escritor mezclan los articulos con los verbos, como “tú’m pagarás” (estrofa 963, línea 7) y, también, para el imperativo tensa como “Díxome” (estrofa 964, línea 2). Era una práctica común en poesia temprano para hacer leyendo más fácil, y cambiar los sonidos de algunas palabras para rimar o medidas. En addición, hay pocos usas de la letra que no exista que ya no existe, “FF” > “h” o “ss” > “s.”
