“How does YAF spell relief? AIDS” - YAF poster for Get on Board Day 1983/84 [2]

These quotes were in response to the formation of the queer student group. Ennis was personally upset by the university allowing the group to remain whereas YAF grouped together in their members’ hatred and made sure the rest of the university knew about it. Their quote was on a poster at their Get On Board Day table (GOBD is an event where UA student organizations all table and attempt to find new members). The YAF table was right next to the queer student group’s table.

“First, I feel that it is irresponsible for The Crimson White to give front page coverage to 50 flagrant fags…. Incidentally, does anyone on this campus own a pellet gun or what?” - Crimson White, letter to the editor, February 1992, Christopher Villers [3] 

This quote came in reaction to the kiss-in image of two men kissing that was placed on the cover page of the Crimson White. Villers later sent in another letter apologizing for bringing a pellet gun into the conversation, but remained adamant in his hatred towards the queer students. (It is important to note this was published 7 years before Columbine and so the threat would not have been viewed as seriously as it should have been.)

“It is very sad that a handful of faggots can scare a whole university into submission”  - Crimson White, letter to the editor, February 8, 1996, Jody Stockmon [4]

This quote was in response to the student group resecuring funding after it had been cut by the SGA. The university deemed the cut to be against the law and against school policy.
